Gave

Gave is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Cypriot coffeehouse, created to revive cultural memory, social sharing, and collective identity. Designed as an experiential social space, it reconnects generations through architecture, storytelling, gastronomy, and community gatherings.
Project Info
Architecture

Gave reinterprets traditional Cypriot coffeehouse architecture through a sustainable and contemporary lens.
Inspired by Mediterranean village life, the project integrates a modern village square, semi-open terraces, and local material textures.
Traditional architectural elements are adapted to today’s environmental and social conditions, creating an inclusive, family-oriented social venue rather than a male-dominated coffeehouse setting.
Experience

Life at Gave unfolds around its indoor seating area (25 guests), semi-open terrace (55 guests), and a 125-person village square designed for communal experiences.
The space hosts live music evenings, open-air cinema screenings, bingo nights, cultural talks, and seasonal celebrations.
Through collaborations with local artists, the #iconacyprus cultural storytelling series, and partnerships with long-established local producers, Gave functions as both a social hub and a living archive of Cypriot heritage.
Interiors

Interiors at Gave balance nostalgia and modernity. Traditional Cypriot details — including the symbolic village chair and vernacular textures — are reinterpreted within a contemporary café environment.
Warm materials, handcrafted elements, and locally inspired design features create a welcoming atmosphere that invites women, men, children, and families alike to gather comfortably.
Location
Gave is located in the centre of Alsancak, approximately 9 km from Kyrenia city centre. Within walking distance to beaches, supermarkets, banks, and pharmacies, and close to schools, municipal buildings, and the post office, the project benefits from strong community integration.
